Reining Pegasus

2 JULY 2007: PA (Paramotor Asociation) was activated today by the president to support the National Agencies for SAR operation. 3 Fishermen were reported lost of Tungku coast on fishing trip. 2 were found and SAR agencies were still looking out for one more. PA Pilots were Dennis, V8ABR and V8MGJ. PA also invited  Jun from RBAF MC to join the operation. PA Operation started at 1500H till late. Pilots reported no sighting.

COMMENTS ON PA SORTIES FOR MONTH OF JUNE

V8MUU: 3 June 2007,Take off time: 1745H, Ldg Time: 1815H Duration: 30mins,  Type: General Handling. Weather was fine. Wind was just marginal 4 MPH. The beach was spacious. . Comments: Excellent takeoff considering very marginal and reverse launch. Very High spirited take off and landing. Excellent control of the wing and not bad departure procedure. Landing into wind was excellent as he continued running with the light wind. Very promising progress. Keep it up V8MUU.

V8AYN: 3 June 2007. Take off time: 1720H Ldg time:1740H Duration:20mins Weather: fine, wind was marginal 3-4mph. Engin: Simonini, Wing: Vitamin, Sortie Type: Low Level & 2 touch and go. Comments: No problems, nice touch & go.

V8AYN: 8 June 2007, Take Off time 1730H, Ldg time: 1740H, Duration: 0.10mins, Weather: fine, Wind: 5-6MPH, Eng: Simonini, Wing: Vitamin. Comments: No Problems.

Comments: Nice Take Off. 1st Touch & Go- Approach was good, Nice landing and running launch. 2nd Touch & Go-on approach turnings were low. Recommend to establish a long final before landing. However very well handled. Overall, excellent, Has not lost touch after a while not flying.

V8MGJ:10 June 2007, Take Off Time: 1655H, Landing Time: 1730H, Durantion: 0.35mins, Weather: fine, Wind: 7-8MPH, Type: GH, Engine: Simonini, Wing: Vitamin. Comments: TO No major problems, abit rusty of reverse pull ups n controlling wing prior launch phase.Airborne no problems, Nice PFL pattern and good approach practice.On landing not bad but remember to continue moving forward and quickly turn specially on lights winds. Kill engine prior to that. If not careful wing will collapse on top of engine and lines tangle on proppeller like what actuall happened. Overall: Good sortie despite after long period of not flying.

Rjl: 10 June 2007, Take Off Time: 1800H, Landing Time: 1835H, Durantion: 0.35mins, Weather: fine, Wind: 7-8MPH, Type: GH, Engine: Flash Easy 100, Wing: Vitamin. Comments: Check for seperate comments from PA01. However, Reverse launch was generally ok. Do not rush to sit on the seatharness. Continue running on the launch. Even if it gets airborne. When you are positively climbing then sit. General handling, no problems but relax your arms and hands. Approach and Landings were generally ok. However you landed on the bush. Aim to establish a straight approach into wind. Smoothly control the wing using the left and right toggle. Do not pull too much on the approach otherwise you kill the speed like what happen. Fly the wing where you wanted it to go. Dont let the wing fly you. Overall: Good progress, its coming along nicely. Continue flying Keep it up! As a remembrance, this is your video:
